Gervonta Davis says he’s ready to fight Ryan Garcia, Vasily Lomachenko or Shakur Stevenson after defeating Lamont Roach this Saturday evening at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Ryan Garcia is the best of three in terms of money that the Davis tank can earn. It is much more popular than Shakur and Lomachenko, and the two already fought two years ago. It was Tank’s biggest career salary. However, the Garcia calendar in 2025 is reserved with fights against Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero on May 2 and a revenge match with Devin Haney in October.
The WBA Tank Davis WBA Tank (30-0, 28 ko) champion declares that he cannot choose a particular name for these three that he would like to fight next, but he thinks that all would be “big” fights. The promoter of Matchroom Eddie Hearn seemed desperate for Tank to face Shakur then, and he should continue to push.
The IBF champion, Vasily Lomachenko, would be easy to do, but his situation is uncertain. He can retire rather than keep fighting.
Stephen A. Smith: “Why this fight, Lamont Roach?” What did he do to deserve to be in the ring with you? You said Ryan Garcia to say when he returns to the ring, he wants you. You have Lomachenko, whom people speak should be in the ring with you. Of course, Shakur Stevenson.
“Many people talk about him and if you are going to fight him on the road. What do you see in terms of ring, against whom you will go up, assuming that you win on Saturday evening, which most people assume. Who do you see in a big fight against, the brand fight for you?
Gervonta Davis: “All these guys. It is not a specific name that I would say. I share the ring with all these guys would be tall. He is himself a world champion. He arrives in weight and dared to be great. We fought before. So this is the story in there. These are two guys trying to be great.
Smith: “Many people talk about your history and how familiar you are with each other. To what extent do you know it at a personal level in terms of association in the ranks in terms of boxing career? »»
Tank Davis: “Thanks to boxing, we came together. We had similar friends in the boxing world. We fought before. So I know his combat style. I haven’t fought it for years. So, I don’t know, but it’s cool that I have someone from this region. I come from Baltimore (and it is Maryland). It is cool that we both entered the ring and share the ring at a professional level. »»
