Liam Wilson and Youssef Dib just threw in a revenge match so violent, so chaotic, that it somehow surpassed their first war.
From the first bell, it was pure carnage. Wilson came with bad intentions, dropping DIB twice earlier and seems to end it quickly. But Dib did not – he dug deeply, refused to stay down and transformed the fight into a total war. In the middle of the rounds, they swung like two guys adjusting a grudge in a parking lot.
The boiled tensions on each fucking turn. Referee Chris Condon could just as well have been a bouncer on a Friday evening because he had full hands, preventing these two from tearing up after the bell. The chaos culminated when Wilson won a low blow that had Billy Dib – Yes, the brother and former world champion of Youssef – ready to jump the ropes and launch his hands. The man had to be physically selected. Wilson lost a point, but no one was taking into account at this point – it was a complete chaos.
After ten cycles of absolute violence, the judges gave Wilson the victory in unanimous with scores of 96-91, 96-91 and 95-92. Right result, but Dib deserves all the respect for the world to make a fight when most would have folded.
Now Wilson has a bigger fish to fry – O’Shaquie Foster for a world title? George Kambosos Jr. in a whole ausse Superfight? Anyway, prepare your beers because this guy is a problem for anyone at 130.
To add even more fuel to the fire, Keith Thurman and Tim Tszyu were on Fox Sports comments, decomposing just like some advertising friends – as if this night needed more star power.
