Trump says he appreciates Zelensky’s message for the peace of Ukraine

The president of the United States, Donald, says he received a letter from Volodymyr Zelensky who agrees to “come to the negotiating table” to reach a peace agreement in Ukraine.

Trump did not indicate when the conversations took place, or if he was personally involved in them.

“It’s time to finish this meaningless war. If you want to end wars, you have to talk to both parties,” he added.

Earlier on Tuesday, Zelensky described the confrontation of the White House with Trump as “unfortunate” following the United States announcing a pause in military aid to kyiv.

Zelensky said that “it was time to do things well,” after Trump accused him of not being ready to come to the negotiating table.
