After beating Beterbiev, what is the next step for Dmitry Bivo, Trilogy Fight or Benavidez?

Saturday evening at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, an exciting revenge match for the undisputed light weight crown took place while Dmitry Bivol beat Artur Betbiev (21-1, 20 kos) by majority decision.

This fight had all the elements you are waiting to see in an elite level championship match. This fight has experienced strategic movements, a friendly action for fans and several momentum changes. Four months ago, Artur Beterbiev gave Dmitry Bivo his first career defeat, and on the night of February 22, Bivol made the favor.

During the opening round of the battle for undisputed, the majority of the action took place in the center of the ring while Beterbiev and Bivol tried to establish the JAB. Beterbiev was released in the second round with the intention of being more aggressive, but when he moved forward, Bivol connected to a right counter fired several times.

In the third round each time Beterbiev won a big heavy shot, Bivol would respond by launching a combination of three or four punch. Beterbiev dominated in Tour 4 when he moved forward and landed heavy right strokes throughout the Tour.

In the 5th round, Beterbiev continued to connect with the right hand to the head and body of Bivol. In the middle of the fifth, Bivol caught Beterbiev with a clean right counter, but Beterbiev finished the Tour by winning a few solid combinations.

Bivol used his jab to install his combinations during the first 90 seconds of the sixth round, but Bettebiev finished the round on a strong note when he supported Bivol against the ropes and landed the duties and the left -handers. An obvious choice for Dmitry Bivol would be a trilogy fight with Artur Beterbiev. With his big victory on Saturday evening, Bivol even the scoring, and now a rubber match can determine the overall winner of the Bivo-Beterbiev series.

Another intriguing option would be an undisputed light weight title between Dmitry Bivo and David Benavidez. The unbeaten David Benavidez was the number one candidate at 168 for two years, but the champion Canelo Alvarez managed to avoid it.

Knowing that he would never receive the opportunity to fight for the title, David Benavidez went to 175. After posting unanimous decision -making victories against Oleksandr Gvozdyk and David Morrell, Benavidez revealed himself as a legitimate candidate heaviness.

In recent years, Dmitry Bivo, 34, has been very active, and during the press conference after the fighting, Bivol hinted to take time to rest and cure some minor throbbing injuries.
