Former WBO Cruiserweight champion, Chris Billiam-Smith (21-2, 13 KB), exceeded the hard American Brandon Glanton (20-3, 13 KB), the fighter by a unanimous 12-round decision in a competition that appeared in Razor-Close at the end on Saturday evening at Tottenham Hotpur Stadium in London. This fight should have been the co-functionality of the card tonight because, on paper, it was a better fight than the others.

Glanton, 33, stayed at the top of Billiam-Smith at the start of the fight, connecting with short punches to the head and body of the former champion. Glant’s physical strength disturbed Billiam-Smith, because it was not strong enough to cope with his wrestling tactics.
From the first round, Chris looked exhausted, as if he had made a whole fight, and his eyes showed swelling of hard punches. I had Glanton at the top 4-2 after six laps. He was beating the farce of Billiam-Smith and did not allow him to land as he wanted.
The scores were 116-113, 116-112 and 116-112. I got it for Billiam-Smith 115-113. He won but barely. Glanton’s pressure and hard blows were a pure nightmare for him, especially in the 12th round when he went for the KO. He had the former flight to the run, trying to survive.
In the fifth, Glanton was labeled with a right that whipped his head. It seemed to be in danger of going down, but he was standing in one way or another. Billiam-Smith came strong in the sixth round, nailing Glanton with a right hand, making him lose his place for a second. It is not known if it came from the punch or the slippery ring. Anyway, it was a hard blow with which Billiam-Smith had struck him.
Billiam-Smith seemed to have taken over the action in the heats 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11. Glanton took most of the first six, then returned strong in the round of the round, winning the much more difficult blows against a tired Billiam-Smith.
It was not the kind of performance Billiam-Smith needed to show that he came back from his loss to Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez last November. It seemed to be about to be knocked out by Glanton early tonight, and once again, he seemed to have lost most of the first six.
