Can Jake Paul become world champion?

By Manny Delgado: Jake Paul (12-1, 7 KB), “The problem Child”, won a victory over the former WBC’s average weight world champion, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr (54-7-1, 34 KB), last Saturday. No doubt his most important victory to date, although there is not much to write, since Chavez was champion almost 15 years ago. Without forgetting, Chavez is strongly considered to be the largest slack in boxing. He has never taken sport seriously and lives under the shadow of his father – Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., a living legend.

It was Paul’s second time in the face of a “legitimate boxer”. His first being against Tommy Fury. However, Fury is nothing special either. He has no non -competition attribution or natural talent for sport. Anyway, he gave Paul his very first loss and his first real boxing lesson.

The result of this fight invited more and more emphasized conversations in sport. For example, Paul has never been able to compete with real boxers or become a legitimate boxer. He is simply “a slideshow” or “circus act” as people so often like to claim it. Critics towards a generally not very recommendable character like Paul aside, given his buffoonery aloud, many sports observers were generally surprised to see that Jake Paul has improved a fairly large amount since his loss against Tommy Fury in 2023.

He now seems to take sport seriously and moves like a fairly decent amateur boxer. He was only 5 years old in his professional boxing career, but he has technical competence and the fundamental principles of boxers 1 to 2 years in a competitive amateur boxing career. However, not everyone would agree, because many would still go so far as to call it “trash”. You could say that for someone with the amount of money and the resources he has, he should be much better at length of giant.

Anyway, with its best performance to date, there is a word that WBA will officially classify it. Paul did not waste time calling several fights after his victory. He wants more difficult challenges and becoming world champion. A pipe dream for a boxer who became YouTuber, who had a very late start in sport, as he did so well in the twenties. It is a sport where the biggest superstars usually start as soon as they can walk or, at the very least, at the start of their adolescence. Although there are exceptions, they are often fighting with technically limited capacities. In this regard, Paul is still a very limited boxer.

Many would go so far as to call Jake Paul delusional, and it would be difficult to challenge, even Chavez JR mentioned in the post-combat interview that he does not believe that Paul is ready for any of the champions. Jake replied with “everything I need is myself, if I listened to someone in life, I would not be where I am today, so self-confidence, self-confidence is all that is needed.”

He followed with a positive message for children, reiterating the importance of self -confidence:

“If you are a child at home, don’t listen to anyone who tells you, you cannot do shit. I am living proof of this S ***.

This could easily be criticized by those who condemn him, such as the right message, the bad messenger. Aside from criticism, it is, after all, a positive message, that you could say resonate with many young and impressable minds. For all Jake Paul’s gaps in the character and defective delivery methods, you cannot hit him too hard for his well -intentioned attempts to inspire the next generation.

There are also a lot of criticism of Paul on the legitimacy of his fights. Words like “fake”, “circus act” and “scripted” are thrown into the mixture of conversation, synonymous with any reference to its name. The way he carefully chose his opponents is not so different from the way the new perspectives are twinned with taxi drivers, construction workers and global part -time. It is a question of filling their records with victories for their first 10 to 20 films to build their confidence. The difference is that Jake Paul does it on a larger scene and takes advantage of it by selecting recognizable names. He secures larger pay checks by fighting MMA fighters at the door, retired legends and Hands rather than fighting part -time that is only known by those of his house.

It is an intelligent decision and not too unlike the typical boxing tradition, but which has aroused a lot of criticism because of the way it is generally unmanageable by fans passionate about boxing. His approach is controversial because of his sensationalism, much saying that he has completely made a “mockery” of sport.

During the post-Fil interview, Paul then called Zurdo Ramirez, Badou Jack, Anthony Joshua, Gervonta Davis and Tommy Fury. It seems that Jake Paul feels more confident than ever. This could be attributed to his sequence of victories at six, since the loss of Tommy Fury which understands the legend Mike Tyson and now the former champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. This new confidence, a natural progression of what the winning fights achieved internally. The gadgets are obviously at stake. You can call it an exaggerated illusion and fl ation made possible thanks to Paul’s mental gymnastics. Since he beat the legendary Mike Tyson, the most recognizable name of boxing (even if he is now senior), for Jake Paul, it may seem as rewarding as if he was really able to beat a Mike Tyson premium.

Notrommmed the feeling of Self -Self -Adorned of Paul, if we want to take it seriously in its pursuit of grandeur and believe that it intends to fight against the names it has called, that many simply consider as an extension of its antics. The question remains: can it really become world champion?

Most boxing fans would be aggressively in disagreement. Although Paul has shown stable improvements and delivered a respectable performance, showing a solid understanding of basic boxing fundamentals, it is always a boxing of boxing. He has a long way to go before he can become world champion, if not at all. After all, he made a solid blow to the 9th and 10th round once Chavez JR was finally ready to let his hands go.

The most realistic pursuit for Paul would be to avenge his loss against the boxer of quality below Tommy Fury. However, even if this should happen, it seems trans fi xed to bite more than it can chew by defying legitimate world boxers. Buffonwork or a real ambition? Only the coming months will say.
