The authorities published on Monday an image on the social networks of the suspect in the Idaho firefighter shot and identified firefighters who were killed and injured in the ambush.
The suspect, Wess Roley, 20, was seen in an image published in his Instagram history with black face paint and camouflage clothing with a bandit at the waist, the authorities shared at a press conference.
It is believed that Role, who was found dead near the shooting scene after the attack that killed two firefighters and wounded another, committed suicide, according to the Sheriff of Kootenai County, Bob Norris.
The victims of the firefighter in the attack were identified at the press conference. Frank Harwood and John Morrison were killed, while Dave Tisdale is hospitalized in stable condition.

It is believed that the suspect has deliberately burned a brush in Canfield Mountain, near Coeur d’Airne, Idaho, on Sunday to attract lifeguards who arrive to turn off the fire. It was discovered that the suspect was in possession of a Plishal head that Norris said it was believed that on Monday it was used to light the fire.
Fire teams responded to the fire around 1:30 pm, and shots were reported approximately half an hour later.
In the audio from the scene, a firefighter said there was an “emergency situation” and an “active shooter in a fire.”
“We need the police here immediately,” the firefighter told a dispatcher, adding that there were “two battalion chiefs down.”
“We have another coeur d’A Alene firefighter … We have two battalion leaders who did not respond, multiple gunshot wounds, two coeur d’Airne are down … I am fixed,” continued the person he called.
The person who called also said that the fire “was intentionally established to attract us.”
“It is clear to me that this fire was intentionally established to attract us,” said the person he called.
APPLICATION OF THE LAW threw a human hunttracking the suspect through the terrain. Using cell phone data, a tactical equipment located Roley’s body and a firearm several hours later in a wooded area near the point of origin of the fire.
Idaho Governor Brad Little, condemned the incident as “an atrocious and direct assault on our brave firefighters” and promised full state support for investigation.
“They replied the call to protect others and paid the final price,” Little said.
The reason behind Roley’s actions is still clear, and Norris said on Monday that no manifesto has been found. Federal authorities, including the FBI, are helping in the investigation.
“We have information that at some point I wanted to be a firefighter,” Norris said. “So we don’t know if there is a link in that desire. And what happened yesterday. But, there is information that we have received that I once wanted to be a firefighter.“

Norris said there had been five APPLICATION OF THE LAW The interactions with Roley, which according to him were of a very minor nature, such as transfer incidents.
Roley had an interaction with firefighters before shooting on where his car was parked, said the sheriff.
It seemed that the suspect lived in his vehicle, Norris said.
“We know that he was a transitory here,” said the Sheriff. “We knew that I lived here during most of 2024. But as for when I arrived here, why I was here, why he chose this place. I don’t know. He has relatives in the area of the priest river, but I don’t know why he chose that. We did not find any link in anything else. Maybe we will find more once we make an invention of the vehicle. But so now, we don’t know.”
