A Sydney nurse who was suspended by a video in which he allegedly made threats against Israeli patients has been accused by the police.
Sarah Abu Lebdeh, 26, faces three positions: threatening violence to a group, the use of a transport service to threaten to kill and use a transport service to harass or cause offense.
Mrs. Abu Lebdeh and another man were suspended from her duties at Bankstown hospital after the video, filmed on an anonymous platform that combines random people for a chat, was released online.
The authorities say that “there is no evidence” that the couple really damaged patients.
In the footage, which seemed to have been filmed inside a hospital and was published by a creator of Israeli content, Mrs. Abu Lebdeh and Ahmad Rashad Nadir supposedly boasted to refuse to treat Israeli patients, kill them and said they would go to hell.
The video extended widely online and caused public protests, with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese describing him as “disgusting” and “vile.”
The New Wales del Sur Police Commissioner Karen Webb said that the charges are a significant advance in what has been a complicated investigation.
“Detectives must be praised to act quickly under enormous pressure and public expectations,” he said.
Mrs. Abu Lebdeh received the bond and will return to the Court on March 19. Mr. Nadir has not been accused.
Earlier this month, Australia approved harder laws against hate crimes after a wave of unrelated anti -Semitic attacks.
In recent months, there have been several incidents of fire and graffiti incidents that involve homes, cars and synagogues in Jewish communities in Australia.
A caravan full of explosives of power gel was found that the police warned that it had the potential to cause a “massive victims event” in Nueva Wales del Sur in January, along with a document with anti -Semitic feelings and a list of Jewish objectives in Sydney.
