The initial attraction for a fight between Eubank Jr and Conor Benn was largely based on the success of the father of each man, where the perspective has almost acted as a quasi-contination of the previous rivalry of their father. EUBANK JR is, of course, the son of Chris EUBANK, former WBO champion in Middleweight and Supper Middle. On the other side, Benn is the son of Nigel Benn, who also held the WBO belt in Middleweight, and he was also the average WBC weight champion. These former two division champions fought twice, first in 1990, when Eubank won the WBO average weight title against Benn. Then they fought in 1993, this time in a unification fight in Super Middleweight, where Eubank and Benn each kept their respective WBO and WBC titles after the end of the Revenge match.
The two sons were originally to fight in October 2022, but only a few days before the fight occurred, Benn was tested positive for a prohibited substance and the fight was then technically postponed. Now that it has finally happened, it ended up going beyond expectations, finally evolving into a candidate for combat in good faith of the year.
This edition of The corner of the rami will provide a brief summary and a review of the fight between Eubank Jr and Benn, as well as some opinions on the performance of each man. Please watch and enjoy the video for a man’s opinion. This is the corner of Rummy (product and told by Geoffrey Ciani).
