Will Bivol dare to face Opetaia at 200?

The fans want to see Dmitry Bivom go to Cruiserweight and challenge the champion of the IBF Jai Opetaia for his belt after his victory on the undisputed champion of the medium super-Poits Artur Beterbiev in their revenge last Saturday evening.

Opetaia will probably welcome a fight against bivo because he strongly talks about him and loves his technical skills. It would take a lot of bravery from Bivo to increase by 25 pounds, but it is similar to what Canelo Alvarez treated when he went to 175 and fought it in 2022.

Bivo promoters at Match boxing told fans and the media that he was 2-0 against Beterbiev because they felt that he deserved a victory in the first fight last October. If they really believe that, it means that there are no more mountains to climb to 175. Bivol could just as easily go to Cruiserweight to challenge the king of the division, Opetaia (27-0, 21 KB).

They do not want Bivol (24-1, 12 KB) to do it because the risk of being eliminated by Opetaia would be too high. In addition, the promoters of Matchroom Eddie Hearn and Frank Smith Hope Canelo Alvarez will want to fight him in a revenge match. It is not very likely, but they hope it will happen.

If Bivol does not fight Beterbiev in a trilogy match and does not obtain Canelo’s fight, going to Cruiserweight for a battle against Opetaia is the most logical. Let us see if the Bivol movement, the rapid combinations and the clinking will work for him against Jai. There is not much difference in size between them.

Bivo options at 168

– Beterbiev trilogy
– Canelo Alvarez
– David Benavidez
– Callum Smith
– Terence Crawford
– Anthony Warde

The trilogy with Beterbiev will come down to know if Turki Alashikh wants to continue him. He must be aware that fans are not very interested in seeing a third fight between them. They want something different.
